Takes the 'I am at work but doing something else' to a whole new level. Thanks a zillion.

I am a frequent user of Ubuntu and have grown to love their virutal desktop feature. However I run Vista on my laptop and wanted this same feature. It hasnt crashed on me yet and does not hog my system resouces. Overall a very good software.

Slick Interface... But crashes on me periodically (about once or twice a day) on WinXP SP2. I spend too much time recovering my windows, when I need to be getting work done. When it crashes, I notice it hogging up about 50+% of the CPU.

Pretty slow, even on my dual proc 2.0GHz quad core machine. Have experienced a couple bugs as well, and it seems to use a lot of memory (currently at 250MB), but it is doing the job I need it too, so I'm keeping it around for now anyway.

VERY slow. Slower than you can imagine on my vista x64, 3.2 Mhz core duo, 8gb ram.

Way to many bugs and way to slow. - Problems with the processbar, with uninstalling and with stabillity. And don't want to wait approx. 2 seconds to change desktop. It needs to happen instantly.

Very nice release! Most stable and robust VDM I've been able to find for Vista -- and still in beta! *drool* Have had it crash a couple of times, and some applications just don't like being relegated to a hidden desktop, but it deals with those pretty well. This is not a slam at all, but a question: why is it so hard to get a VDM for windows that works as well as Spaces for OS X or *nix?

Excellent Utility! Allows me to keep my desktop organized and categorized by window type/program. Outstanding.. I have one idea to make it even better: add a feature that allows the user to assign "instant switch" hotkeys to the individually numbered desktops. That would be so siiiick...

Very good. The only complaint I have is that after enabling VDM the animation effect when minimizing a window disappears. It's only a tiny bug but I still hope it can get fixed. Also, if you can include a window list in which windows can be easily moved between desktops and assigned as "sticky", like VirtualWin, it'll be better.

Your program is very good but I am still getting those occasional crashes "VVPM stopped working. Diagnose?"( I just now got another one) I assume this is an active program. Keep up the good work.

sometimes certain opened windows disappear and i can't recover them! it happens when i switch around different desktops. otherwise, feature-wise, great piece of work!

As the previous review I find the SW very good , but I also miss possibility to have different Sohrtcuts on the different Desktops or a system that will manage groups of Shortcuts and show them when I need them (on key combination pressed). Tzanimir

Good, but not great, yet! What it really needs is the ability to assign desktop shortcuts to a particular desktop, and to make shortcuts like 'Recycle Bin' sticky across all desktops.

It will be better to add 3d desktop like ubuntu's compiz!

The project shows some promising features since it's so tightly bound to the Windows architecture but the lack of optimization renders it virtually unusable as an application that is supposed to constantly and transparently run in the background. The constant memory leaks and jumps in CPU usage are simply unacceptable. Use one of the many alternatives for now and watch further development of VDM.

Quite nice, but not perfect. Focus gets lost when switching desktops. After a while a System.OverflowExceptions occur in the .NET Framework.

Missing programs while switching between desktops are really annoying. Sometime it happens that whole program slow down w/o obivous reason, it doesn't take cpu or memory. Other than that everything is perfect.

I installed this yesterday, and fell in love. I set up the Option for Hotkeys to switch between desktops via WIN-arrow keys, and to move windows to other desktops via shft-ALT-arrow keys. I dig that I can make a window sticky (make it appear in all desktops) via the Window-W key. No I have one desktop for PHP development, another for investments, another for email/calendar, etc. 5 Stars!

Great work, the ability to add numerous desktops is extremely nice! I liked this tool too much.

This is great. LOVE the app. Best thing since a UNIX windows manager and completely replicates Spaces for the Mac. My one request would be that I can choose the fade time for the overlay when you switch desks.

Almost there. If it was possible to configure to switch apps on single or on all desktops via alt-tab or <winkey>-tab I'd start using it every day. Switching now to an application on an other desktop is a 1 or 2 step action. It would be nice to have the option to show all apps in the task-bar for easier mouse switching.

Great! Best switcher since Unix. Running Vista on DellXPSM1710 with dual screens. I'd have to disagree with 'beginners mind' though, having an Alt-Tab per desktop is invaluable. If I want to swap to another desktop I use hotkeys for either the "switcher" or "Desktops" or to view all, F9 is perfik! Great work peeps, thanks

Great start but buggy... can't wait for the final version!

SO CLOSE! Biggest challenge: <Alt><Tab> only shows windows that are hosted in the current virtual desktop. Suggestion: <Alt><Tab> should show ALL windows, and automatically jump to the virtual desktop hosting the chosen window. Otherwise, excellent, stable, feature-rich, configurable, and free!

Very nice release, it may work better on Vista than XP. My install suffered from slow performance and when switching from 4 to 2 desktops made my taskbar and desktop icons disappear. Reboot needed to recover. Switching from one desk to the other was somewhat slow, no integration with Windows' command bars (icon menu) like you would see in a gnome environment.
