Release Notes

This version adds several nice new features:
  • Mouse edge switching - switch desktops by resting your mouse on the edge of the screen
  • Window animations - windows will slide on and off screen in order to give a visual indication of where they are going
  • Redesigned options dialog with WPF - much cleaner, and with many more options
  • Right-click windows in the fullscreen overview to see the window menu
  • Tons of miscellaneous bug, feature, and performance fixes

Win7 64-bit I also lost all settings after the upgrade and can no longer set the hot keys.

The new version crashes immediately after showing the splash screen (Win 7 64 bit). Tried both to install as an update and fresh installation

Upgrade doesn't keep the settings. Hot keys registration appears to be broken for me on Win7 32 bit. I can't turn off specific hot key options (untick the option, it reticks on restart), and it keeps popping up that different hotkeys are already registered.

Installed new version today on Vista 32-bit. System tray pop-up continues to say "Click here for new version" which repeatedly crashes Finestra on Windows startup and when trying to open the program.

I downloaded the latest this morning on Feb 23. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit and Finestra crashes on startup.

Crashes for me. When I run the program it says "not responding". I was looking forward to the next release so I hope this gets fixed soon. One suggestion, instead of the tray icon provide users with an .exe to 'Start' and 'Stop' the virtual desktops process. Then another .exe for the settings. Once I've setup my desktops I don't use the tray icon and it would be nice to free up space in the tray.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a problem with 2.5. Start up Firefox on one desktop, and the same window is visible in the background (but inactive) on all desktops. Haven't tried it with anything else, but this is enough to make it unusable. I've reverted to 2.1. However, I do appreciate the work involved in producing Finestra, and I look forward to a revised Version 2.5.
