Stay on Desktop not working

I have assinged several programs to specific desktops and not seen this work even once. I have used the program name as it appears on the title bar, on the applications tab of task manager, and as an entry in task managers process tab and in no case has any window shown up in the designated "stay on" desktop. What manner of identifying the progrma "name" should ne employed? Does this feature work for other users or is it just not there yet? This is on Vista.

you must use the .exe name of the program. for example: winword.exe and "winword.exe"
you must assign one with quotes and one without quotes. to find the .exe name right click on the icon of the program and select properties, then look for the .exe name.
