I'm running version 0.9.1.0 on a Dell Inspiron 1720 that has Vista Home Premium and 2GB of RAM.  As you can tell, this is far from the minimum requirements for Vista.

The issues I'm having are as follows:

* Not all the time but very frequently it takes upwards of 20 seconds to switch desktops.  IE, from the time I press WIN-1 (or 2 or 3 or 4) to the time the screen actually switches to the desktop (and shows the transition image), approx 20 seconds has passed.  As I said, it doesn't happen all the time but often enough to where it makes actually utilizing the multiple desktops worthwhile.  I'm not sure if it matters but I have 4 desktops configured.

* I have the per desktop background setting turned on and have defined separate backgrounds for each desktop.  However, every time I reboot, all of the backgrounds have been changed to that of the first.  Is there something I am doing wrong in setting the backgrounds in the first place?  Everything seems to work and the individual background images are there when I change to that desktop.  But when I shutdown for the evening and start up again in the morning, they are all changed back again.
This is what the directory VDM uses to store the BG images looks like throughout the day:

This is what it looks like after I reboot:

It's gotten such that I've created a batch file just to copy the correct images in to place after I reboot.  That's just silly.

Any ideas as to what might be going on with either of these issues I'm experiencing?

thnx,
Christoph
